    Charles “Chip” Moore, 79, of Ellery, IL, passed from this life to the next on April 2, 2019 at his home.

    He was born March 23, 1940 in Ellery to Alice (Johnson) and Dale Moore. He married Wilma Burkett on April 16, 1965 at the Pentecostal Assembly of God in Mt. Carmel, IL and she survives.

    Chip was a farmer and the owner of the Case-IH dealership in Edwards County. He enjoyed watching his grandkids play sports and cattle farming. He was a lifelong member of the Bethel United Methodist Church in Ellery. Chip loved gospel music and led the music at church from the age of 18 to 78.

    He is survived by his wife of almost 54 years, Wilma; two daughters: Angie (Jeff) Hout of Ellery and Karla Moore of Ellery; two sons: Brian (Janneene) Moore of West Salem, IL and Patrick Moore of Ellery; a brother, Leroy (Betty) Moore of Ellery; six grandchildren: Heather (Shane) Laird of Fairfield, IL, Ashley (Ben) Spray of Albion, Bryce Hout of Ellery, Madison Hout of Ellery, Kali Weisenberger of Carterville, IL, and Anneke Fritz of Germany; and three great-grandchildren: Gracie Laird, Bo Laird, and Jerad Spray.

    Chip was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Lester; and sister-in-law, Joyce.

    Visitation will be held Sunday, April 7, 2019 from 3 to 7 p.m. at Ingram-Meridith Funeral Home in Albion. The funeral service will be held Monday, April 8, 2019 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery near Ellery.

    Memorials may be made to Bethel Church or Bethel Cemetery, and envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

    Our deepest sympathies to Chip’s family. He was an extraordinary person, and dedicated family man. It has been our pleasure to know him and work with him as well as Patrick. He will be greatly missed.
