    Catherine Laird, 91, of Cisne, Illinois passed away Saturday, December 25, 2021, at Carle Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney, Illinois.

    Catherine was born March 6, 1930, to Lilly (Trotter) Russell at Desoto, Illinois.  She married William A. (Bill) Laird May 15, 1948, at Cisne, Illinois.  He preceded her in death on September 28, 2007.

    Catherine was a retired register nurse and a homemaker.  She was a member of the Cisne United Methodist Church at Cisne, Illinois.  She always enjoyed helping with Whirlwind Wednesdays.

    Catherine is survived by two daughters Janie Janes of Flora, Illinois and Rae (Paul) Weber of Mt. Erie, Illinois; one son Kenneth (Vi) Laird of Woodbridge, Virginia; nine grandchildren Missy Lewis, Sara Zachman, Ashton Harris, Joshua Laird, Tyler Laird, P.J. Weber, Derek Weber, Justin Weber and Michelle Petrosky; also surviving are eighteen great grandchildren Katie Lewis, Keegan Lewis, Aiden Zachman, Alyvia Harris, Alyssa Weber, Bella Weber, Lilly Weber, Kailee Weber, Lexi Weber, Layne Weber, Bristol Weber, Hudson Weber, Emmett Weber, Renleigh Weber, Malea Weber, Emalie Matthews, Claire Matthews, Ryker Petrosky and Sloane Petrosky.

    Catherine was preceded in death by her mother, husband Bill, one sister Maxine, four brothers, John, George, Billy and Charles and one great grandson Brock Lewis.

    Visitation will be held Monday, January 3, 2022, from 10AM – 12:00PM at Hosselton-Meridith Funeral Home in Cisne, Illinois.  Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 12:00PM Monday, following visitation.  Burial will follow in Laird Cemetery.

    Memorials may be given to Donor’s Choice and will be accepted at the funeral home.

    Katherine was a big influence in my life
    We had many long talks regarding our diabetes and life in general. I am sure her and Bill are having a happy reunion in heaven.
