Carolyn “Honey” Haas, 90, of Lebanon, IL, died Monday, October 22, 2018, at Cedar Ridge Health Care Center in Lebanon, IL.

Carolyn was born January 16, 1928 in New Baden, IL. On November 18, 1956, she married Amos Haas in Belleville, IL.

Carolyn was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Lebanon.  She never knew a stranger and was always inclusive, wanting to be around people constantly.  She was blessed with many friendships which she treasured, throughout her lifetime.  To say she had a big heart is an understatement.  She loved to take care of people, always reaching out to everyone who needed help.  Honey loved to laugh and tried to have fun every day of her life.  She started “Happy Hour” in her nursing home room for all who could make it.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Amos Haas; daughter, Jamie Jo Haas; brothers and sisters, Linus, Ethel, Hermina, Adaline, Florence and Adell.

She is survived by her children, Gary (Connie) Haas and Amie Haas-Poole, both of Lebanon, IL; grandchildren, Michael Crabtree, Daniel Crabtree, David Haas, Leigh Poole; many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul UCC or Shriners Children’s Hospital.

We are so sorry for your loss. My mom, ImaJune (Boad) Obernuefemann, considered Honey a very dear friend. I loved to hear her laugh. She seemed to always be smiling and laughing and just having a good time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Sharon and Greg

We will miss Honey a lot. She was always happy, friendly and enjoyed seeing all of her friends. She always made us laugh. We could count on her to tell us exactly how she felt and she always let us know what was going on. She was really “one of a kind” and we will miss her so much. She will live in the hearts and minds of everyone who knew her.

    Gary, Amy and families,
Our hearts go out to you. I have the best memories of your mom, my great Aunt, she was such a joy to be around. Her laugh was contagious and filled a room with fun. She was an angel among us and now an angel in heaven. She will be greatly missed.
