Carl J. Gunter, 92, of Collinsville, IL passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at Anderson Hospital, in Maryville, IL.

He was born August 31, 1931, in Brunot, MO, to Tom and Karen (nee Christinson) Gunter. On January 7, 1951, he married the love of his life, Melba Russell, in Belleville, IL.

Carl was known far and wide for his relentless work ethic. Whether he was visiting the country, meticulously working on his cars, or enjoying a ride on his motorcycle, Carl approached every task with unwavering determination. His family was his anchor, and he treasured every moment spent with them. He was a treasured father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years, Melba Gunter; parents, Tom and Karen Gunter, sister, Betty Marie (nee Gunter) Bausman.
