- Full Obituary
Brown Buford Lee, Jr., affectionately known as ‘Stut”, was born in Williamson County, Tennessee to Fannie & Brown B. Lee, Sr. on May 22, 1931. He graduated from Franklin Training School in 1950 and joined the United States Air Force in 1951. On October 7, 1959 Brown married Margaret Luster in Nashville, Tenn. They began their married life soon after at Scott AFB, Illinois where he served in Transportation and Medical Services. Brown Lee’s military service included service in the Korean War, the Vietnam War and a tour of duty in Germany. He proudly received the Vietnam service Award; the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Air Force Good Conduct Medal and the Air Force Longevity Service Award. He retired after twenty years of service as a Staff Sargent.
Brown made a confession of faith in Jesus at Cherry Street Community Church of God, Lebanon, Illinois and was baptized by his father in Law, Elder B. A. Luster.
He loved restoring and repairing automobiles that he generously gave to family. He was always busy planting beautiful vegetable and flower gardens. He even showed us how to grow and pick a small patch of cotton. Brown loved jazz, blues and motorcycles and was a longtime rider of a Harley Davidson as a member of the Crusader Motorcycle club. A busy man was he, driving in the Lebanon Firemen’s Picnic with his son Jeffrey on his minibike beside his dad. He also drove his much-loved Ford tractor transporting his grandchildren and Help For Mom children in the Firemen’s Picnic.
He was a wonderful husband and father and cared for his family with all his heart. He will forever be remembered by his wife, Margaret Lee; son, Jeffrey (Jumana) Lee, grandchildren, Kayla, Samuel, Meriden and Isaiah of Oklahoma City, OK; two daughters Cheryl (Otis) McCarver, grandchildren, John, Leah, Jeremiah, Joshua, and Juanita of Dallas, Texas and Cassandra (Theo) Glover, granddaughter, Diana of Rockford, Illinois.
He is survived by four sisters, Fannie Patton of Chicago, Illinois, Labora Woodard, Maxine Lane, and Patricia Wheeler, all of Nashville, Tennessee. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear longtime friends and neighbors Theresa and Dennis Harris of Lebanon, Illinois.
