Bobby C. Howell, 86, of Lebanon, IL, died Sunday, January 10, 2016, at his residence with his daughter by his side.
Bobby was born June 26, 1929, to Everett and Helen (nee Barney) Howell in Fleming, Kentucky. In 1952 he married Miyoko Yoshida in Tokyo, Japan.
After high school, he enlisted in the Air Force in 1948, and after making a career of the service he retired in 1968. Bobby was a member of the American Legion, Sportman’s Club, Kentucky Colonels, and Lebanon Singers. He owned and operated the Sportsman’s Tavern in Lebanon, IL. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golf, billiards and the last several years, he planted a vegetable garden.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Helen Howell; his wife and best friend, Miyoko Howell; brothers, Richard Lee “Dickie” Howell, Ronald Joe Howell, Jerry “Pete” Howell.
He is survived by his daughter, Helen L. Howell, Lebanon, IL; sisters, Patricia (Willie) Spangler, Neon, KY, Judith (Roger) Munn, Greenwood, SC; several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Wounded Warriors or American Cancer Society.
Graveside Service: Friday, January 15, 2016, at 12:45 pm at College Hill Cemetery, Lebanon, IL.
Officiating: Rev. Tom Dawson, Pastor, First Baptist Church, O’Fallon, IL.
Interment: College Hill Cemetery.
