Billy E. Causey, 70, of Highland, IL, passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2023, at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
He was born on August 27, 1953, in St. Louis, MO, to James and Inez (nee Powell) Causey. He married the love of his life, Velma Determann, on February 11, 1978, at Assembly of God Church in Maryville, IL.
Billy has been living in Highland for 48 years. He moved from Collinsville, where he graduated Collinsville High School in 1971. Billy attended First Baptist Church in Maryville, IL, and worked at Boeing as a Crater/Packer for 30 years until he retired in 2015.
Billy liked going to car shows and concerts, watching tv, and walking his beloved dog, Scotty. A true family man, Billy loved having barbeques and playing with his grandchildren. He was hardworking, generous, and loving. A good man who loved his God and loved his wife, Billy will be missed deeply by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Inez Causey, and his brother, James Causey Jr.
Billy is survived by his wife of 45 years, Velma Causey; sons, Matt (Heather) Causey, Andrew (Anji) Causey, Steve (Lynsie) Causey; grandchildren, William Causey, Saxton Causey, Laynie Causey; foster grandchildren, Gabe, Cole, and Zoey.
Memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church Maryville, Unity Hospice, or the American Cancer Society.
