Betty Wren, 80, of Highland, IL, died Monday, July 9, 2018, at her residence, surrounded by her family.

Betty was born November 1, 1937, to Raymond and Estella (nee Alberternst) Korte in Breese, IL. On February 7, 1959, she married Donald Jansen at St. Mary's Church, Trenton, IL. This marriage ended in divorce. On September 10, 1981, she married Robert Wren in Godfrey, IL.

Betty was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Highland, IL, and the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary. From 1951 to 1958, she studied under the Order of the Poor Handmaids at the Convent in Donaldson, IN. She was also a Plant Care Minister at St. Paul Church and a volunteer at the food pantry.

Betty had a big heart and always found something nice to say about everyone. She was a lover of nature, plants, and animals. She liked to travel, play cardsand other games, but she especially loved to spend time with her family. Betty loved helping people anyway she could, and could put a smile on anyone's face.

She is survived by her Children, Sharon (Calvin) Cox, St. Louis, MO, Eric (fiancé Peggie Boettcher) Jansen, St. Louis, MO, Scott (fiancé Christine Magyari) Jansen, St. Louis MO; Stepchildren, D'Lisa (Cotton) Schulte, New Baden, IL, Kelley (Luiza) Wren, Worms, Germany, Craig Wren, Belleville, IL; Grandchildren, Nick, Lisa, Elaine, Cari, Juliann, Theresa, Jesse, Mark; Step Grandchildren, Ryan Schulte (Lauren Roseankranz), New Baden, IL, Jennifer Ann Wren, Worms, Germany; several Great Grandchildren; Special Niece, Kim (Tim) Vincent, Highland, IL; Brothers, Ray (Pat) Korte, Highland, IL, Tom Korte, Trenton, IL; Sisters, Shirley Bailey, Houston, TX, Terri (Randy) Schwarz, Wimberly, TX; Nieces and Nephews.

She was preceded in death by her Parents, Raymond and Estella Korte; Stepmother, Dorothy (nee Steinmann) Korte; Husband, Robert Wren; Brother, Joseph Korte, in infancy.
