    Betty J. Hogue, 82, of Greenville, IL, passed away, Friday, July 24, 2020 at HSHS Holy Family Hospital in Greenville, IL.

    Betty was born June 6, 1938, to Chester and Leona (nee Striegel) Andersen, in St. Louis, MO. On July 3, 1960, she married Maurice Hogue at the Christian Church, in Pontoon Beach, IL.

    Betty was a member of the First Christian Church in Greenville, IL.

    Betty loved kids, taking care of 50 foster children throughout the years. She adopted her three daughters, and was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She was a very peaceful and calm person. Betty’s favorite holiday was Christmas, and her favorite place to travel was Branson, MO. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, especially fond of Yadier Molina.

    She is survived by her daughters, Tracy Emerson, Nancy, KY, Lisa (Eric) Ruble, Greenville, IL, Pamela (significant, other, Chas Wallace) Johnson, Greenville, IL; grandchildren, Amber Werhle, Amiee Mass, Justin Hogue, Cheyenne Hogue, Austin Emerson, Vanessa Oppong-Johnson; eight great grandchildren; sister, Shirley (Rich) Jasudowicz, Holiday Shores, IL; sister-in-law, Kay Andersen, Pontoon Beach, IL; several nieces and nephews.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Leona Andersen; husband, Maurice Hogue; brother, Billy “Turtle” Andersen.

    Memorials may be made to the Family for her grandchildren’s college funds.
