Bertram M. Ayala, 67, of O’Fallon, IL, died Sunday, June 26, 2016, at Cedar Ridge Health and Rehabilitation Center, Lebanon, IL.
Bertram was born March 25, 1949, to George and Janet (nee Bertram) Ayala, in Bay City, MI.
He was proud to be a Marine and his time in Vietnam, and loved Notre Dame Football and New York Yankee Baseball. He was a very loving man and loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Bertram took pride in his job at the post office and demanded quality work out of all of his co-workers. He enjoyed many hours working in his yard cutting his grass. He loved what Southern California had to offer, especially the beaches. Semper Fi.
He is survived by his children, Bradford Ayala and Megan (Kevin) Schaeffer; grandchildren, Nastassja, Miranda, Brooklynne, Baylee, and Madylin; brothers, Richard (Kim) Ayala and Bill (Kary) Ayala; sisters, Isabelle (Mike) Lindauer and Janice Ayala.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Janet Ayala; brother, George Ayala.
