Bernice M. Thien, nee Husmann, 82 of Highland, IL died August 1, 2008 at Faith Care Center, Highland, IL. She was born in Carlyle, IL on March 11, 1926 to Nicholas and Theresa (Voss) Husmann and they are both deceased. On November 27, 1946 she married Raymond T. Thien in Carlyle, IL. Raymond died November 7, 1987.
Also preceded in death by three brothers, one being her twin brother, Joe Husmann, and Ray Husmann and Clarence "Chuck" Husmann, and one sister, Nellie Lake.
She is survived by: two daughters, Doris (John) Driscoll, Fairview Hgts, IL; Connie (Bill Presnell) Winkeler, Highland, IL; four grandchildren, Scott (Sara) Rensing, New Baden, IL; Robin (Gary) Griesbaum, Highland, IL; Shane Winkeler, Highland, IL; Nicholas (Friend Kelly Apken) Winkeler, Highland, IL; five great grandchildren, Kaela, Ellie, Megan, Tyler, and Drake.
Bernice had worked at various Restaurants and Factories and most notably as a Wal-Mart Associate and Door Greeter. She enjoyed bowling, Cardinals Baseball, Volunteer Work, Writing Poetry, and her Family.
She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Highland, IL and had worked in the St. Joseph Auxiliary for many years.
VISITATION: Monday, August 4, 2008 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday, August 5, 2008 from 8:00 - 9:45 A.M. at the Meridith Funeral Home, Highland, IL.
FUNERAL MASS: Tuesday, 10:00 A.M. @ St. Paul Catholic Church with Fr. Aloysius Ndeanaefo, Parochial Vicar officiating. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Highland, IL.
