    Bernice Bailey passed from this life to her heavenly home on Sunday, October 3, 2021, at Wabash General Hospital in Mt. Carmel, IL.  She was born January 21, 1928, to Albert Huff and Thelma (Masterson) Huff in Burnt Prairie, IL.  Bernice married George Bailey on September 4, 1948, in Fairfield, IL.

    She was a very caring Mom and a private and loving person.  Bernice babysat children in her home and every one of them felt the love she gave, especially her grandchildren.

    She is survived by one son; Larry (Sandy) Bailey, Grayville, IL two daughters; Debbie (Howard) Maidlow, Mt. Carmel, IL, Tammy (Jim) Ballard, Albion, IL, eight grandchildren; James Bailey, Audra Perez, Michael Quillen, Andy Bailey, Barkley Quillen, Randy Bailey, Whitney Bruce, Logan Ballard, 13 great-grandchildren; Mitchell McVaigh, Emma Bailey, Morgan Quillen, Izzy McGarvey, Jacob Quillen, Dakota Quillen, Kristina Quillen, Rebecca Burton, Laurel Plummer, Colton Plummer, Tori Bruce, Chloe Bruce, John Bailey, one great great-grandchild; Jackson McGarvey, one sister; Ruth (Ray) Root, Albion, two brothers; Joe (Linda) Huff, Joliet, IL, Charles Huff, Evansville, IN. and several nieces and nephews.

    Bernice was preceded by her parents Albert and Thelma (Masterson) Huff, one daughter; Sharon Bailey in childhood, husband; George Bailey, four brothers; Harold Huff, Bill Huff, Albert Huff, Dale Huff, two sisters; Marge (Huff) Ahl, Faye (Huff) Wood.

    Graveside service will be Friday October 8, 2021, at 11:00 a.m., Bethel Cemetery, Ellery, IL.  Friends and families are asked to go direct to the cemetery, there will be no visitation. Masks are required and social distancing guidelines to be followed.

    Memorials can be made to American Heart Association, St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Bethel Cemetery.

    Interment: Bethel Cemetery, Ellery, IL

    One of the greatest women i knew always made you feel loved and special so sorry for not stopping in and seeing her more to all her family my God be with you all at this time love you all J

    Aunt Bernice opened her home and heart to us whenever we came home to visit. A loving soft spoken woman, and a very hard worker. Her family was everything to her and she showered them with love.     Our hearts are heavy with the loss of Aunt Bernice, she always welcomed us whenever we came to visit, we are so sorry we can not be with you all at this time. Please remember we love you all and are praying from our hearts to yours.
