Bernard P. Potochney, 50, of Pocahontas, IL, died Tuesday August 17, 2010, at St. Joseph Hospital, Highland, IL.
He was born October 19, 1959, to Bernard S. and Mary Lou (Nee Owens) Potochney, in E. St. Louis, IL. He married Linda LeRoy on September 23, 1977, in Fairview Heights, IL.
Bernard loved hunting, fishing, and being outdoors. He loved his family and playing with his grandkids.
He is survived by: his wife, Linda Potochney; 4 children, Shawna (David) Lindley, Bernard P. “Bernie” Potochney, Jr., Angie Potochney, Michael Potochney, all of Pocahontas, IL; 12 grandchildren; 5 brothers, Frank Potochney, Tab (Lisa) Potochney, Freddie Potochney, Tommy Potochney, Larry Potochney; 3 sisters, Tina Handel, Debbie (Rueben) Pocheco, Sophie (Herman) Matasar, many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Bernard and Mary Lou Potochney; 2 sisters, Dora Rodriguez, Mary Lou Potochney; 1 niece, Tina Martindale.
Visitation: Friday, August 20, 2010, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., at Meridith Funeral Home, Pocahontas, IL.
Funeral: Saturday, August 21, 2010, at 11:00 a.m., at Meridith Funeral Home.
Clergy: Rev. Ron Lindley, Pastor, Cross of Victory, Pocahontas, IL
Interment: At a later date.
