    Barbara Ann Thompson, 78, of Ellery, IL passed from this life to her heavenly home, February 1, 2022, at Deaconess, Midtown Hospital, Evansville, IN.  She was born January 4, 1944, to James and Aline (Johnson) Hamilton in Olney, IL. Barbara’s grandfather Morris Johnson helped raise her and was very much a part of her life. She married Jimmie Thompson at the Ellery Christian Church on June 5, 1965, and he preceded her in death in 2017.

    Barbara was a member of the Ellery Christian Church.

    She worked as a timekeeper for Airtex Products in Fairfield, IL. She was doughnut maker at the IGA in Albion. Barbara and her mother wrote the Ellery News for the local newspapers for over fifty years.

    She was preceded in death by her parents James and Aline Hamilton, her husband Jimmie Thompson and son Ed “Eddie” Thompson.

    Barbara is survived by daughter Marsha (Mark) Runyon, Olney, IL, son Craig (Stacy) Thompson, Ellery, IL, daughter-in-law, Kim Thompson, Albion, IL, nine grandchildren, Trystin (Fiancé’ Taylor Hughes) Runyon, Chance Runyon, Trenton Thompson, Tori Thompson, Tyce Thompson, Tara Thompson, Ezra Thompson, Kayci Thompson, and Henry Thompson.

    Visitation: Tuesday February 8, 2022, 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Ingram-Meridith Funeral Home, Albion, IL.

    Funeral Service: Tuesday February 8, 2022, 1:00 p.m., Ingram-Meridith Funeral Home, Albion, IL

    Interment: Graceland Cemetery, Albion, IL.

    Memorials can be made to the family.  Envelopes will be available at the visitation.
