Arthur Sellers, Jr., 89, of Aviston, IL, formerly of Lebanon, IL, died Saturday, January 8, 2011, at Aviston Countryside Manor, Aviston, IL.
He was born October 6, 1921, to Arthur and Leila (nee Davis) Sellers, Sr. On November 22, 1947, he married Lillian Mueller, in Beckemeyer, IL.
Art served in the Army during World War II, in the Pacific Theatre. He worked at a small arms and ammunitions plant, St. Louis, MO, and then he went to work for Cope Motors, Trenton, IL. He co-founded ABJ Motors in Trenton, IL. He started Lebanon Auto Parts, and then later he started Summerfield Salvage. He built or rebuilt 47 houses in Summerfield, IL. He was involved in auto racing most of his life. He was a member of American Legion, Mascoutah, IL, and Masonic Lodge, Trenton, IL.
He is survived by: 2 Children, Dennis (Stephanie) Sellers, Summerfield, IL, Yvonne Dietz, Lebanon, IL; 5 Grandchildren; 1 Sister, Josephine Deerhake, Beckemeyer, IL.
He was preceded in death by: His Parents, Arthur and Leila Sellers, Sr.; His Wife, Lillian Sellers; 1 Sister; 1 Brother.
Graveside Service was held Wednesday, January 12, 2011, at Summerfield Cemetery, Summerfield, IL, with the Trenton Masonic Lodge rendering Masonic Services.
