Anna R. Jancek, 87, nee Mitas, of Alhambra, IL died Friday, September 5, 2008 at Hitz Nursing Home, Alhambra, IL. She was born in St. Louis, MO to John and Anna (Sacha) Mitas, on July 13, 1921. Both are deceased. She married Frank J. Jancek, October 16, 1943 in St. Louis, MO, and he preceded her in death April 16, 2005.
Also preceded in death by 2 sisters and 2 brothers, Helen Fischer, Lillian Ohren, Louis and Robert Mitas, Brothers-in-Law and Sister-in-Law, Joe Fischer, John Ohren, and Bernice Mitas.
She is survived by 1 son, Francis J. (Gloria) Jancek, Highland, IL; 1 Daughter, Mary Ann (Fiance Terry McNece) Hemker, Highland, IL; 4 Grandchildren, Rich (Wendy) Jancek, Roscoe, IL; Cheryl (Paul) Pittman, Memphis, TN; Christine (Gary) Headley, Greenville, MI; Darrin Koonce, Greenville, IL; 13 Great Grandchildren, Jenna, Brett, Hunter, Hayden, Jarrett, Shawn, Shannon, Shaunda, Steven, Tyler, Sarah, Jessica and Jennifer. 5 Great-Great-Grandchildren and a nephew Joe Jancek of El Paso, Texas; several nieces and nephews and cousins, and friends.
Mrs. Jancek retired from Basler Electric after 27 years. She is a member of St. Paul Church, Highland, IL; VFW Ladies Auxiliary; Royal Neighbors.
VISITATION: Monday, Sept. 8, 2008 @ Meridith Funeral Home, Highland, from 4:00 -8:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 4:00 p.m.
FUNERAL: Mass of Christian Burial, Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2008 @ 10:00 AM @ St. Paul Catholic Church, Highland, IL with Fr. Aloysius Ndeanaefo, Parochial Vicar officiating.
