    Anna May "Annie" Mettler, 72, of Old Ripley, IL died March 16, 2008 at her residence.  She was born May 26, 1935 to Theodore and Anna (Orlos) Bloemker just east of Grantfork, IL.   She married Orville Mettler on November 21, 1953 at St. Nicholas Church in Pocahontas, IL and he survives.

    Also survived by two sons - Thomas (Victoria) Mettler of Rural New Douglas, IL;  Alan (Terri) Mettler of Rural New Douglas, IL; five grandchildren - Jennifer (Matt) Mucklow, Old Ripley, IL;  Nicole "Nicky" Mettler - Grantfork, IL; Joseph, Jared, Jacob Mettler at home.  two sisters Elaine (Harry) Wrone - Greenville, IL and Theodora "Susie" (Harold) Primm, Alhambra, IL.

    She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister - Norma Kesman.

    She was a homemaker and in her early years she worked as a secretary at Basler Electric in Highland and at Pierron Grain Elevator.  Annie served as treasurer of the Village of Old Ripley for 46 years and was an avid bowler, enjoyed shopping and playing tricks.

    Visitation:  Wednesday, March 19, 2008 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and Thursday, March 20, 2008 from 8:00-10:00 a.m. at the Meridith Funeral Home in Pocahontas, IL.

    Funeral:  Thursday, March 20, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. at the Meridith Funeral Home in Pocahontas with the Rev. Darryl Bolin, Pastor of First Christian Church, Greenville, IL.  Burial in Brown Cemetery, Old Ripley, IL.
