    Angela “Angie” M. Gipson, 46, of St. Louis, MO, formerly of Collinsville, IL, passed away Saturday, October 12, 2024, at her home in St. Louis, MO.

    She was born on March 31, 1978, in Belleville, IL, to Dwight Eldon and Sharon (nee Herin) Smith, Sr. In 1999 she married the love of her life, Dennis James Gipson, Jr. in Edwardsville, IL.

    Angie was truly one of a kind — a unique and creative spirit. To be around Angie was to experience pure joy. She was the spark that lit up any room she walked into, bringing laughter, warmth, and an unmistakable sense of fun. She had a presence that demanded your attention in the best possible way, radiating a love for life that was contagious. If there was one word to describe Angie, it would be simply "Awesome" — a fitting tribute to a woman who was truly unforgettable.

    She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 9 years, Dennis James Gipson, Jr.; beloved son Dennis “DJ” Gipson, III; father, Dwight Eldon Smith, Sr.; brother, David Smith, nephew, Joseph “Joey” Walsh, Jr.

    Angie is survived by her long-time significant other, James Wilson; mother, Sharon Smith; children, Austin Gipson, Jeffery “Jeff” Gipson, Brooke “BB” Smith; grandchildren, Kayloni, Kayden Tucker, Abel Gipson; siblings, Dwight Smith, Jr., Vincent Smith, Laura Walsh, Sheila Welch, Michael “Mike” Smith, Tracy Smith, Elizabeth Joshway, Patra Smith; numerous nieces, nephews, and many loving friends.

    Visitation: Tuesday, October 22, 2024, 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, at the Kassly-Meridith Funeral Home, Collinsville, IL.

    Service: Tuesday, October 22, 2024, 12:00 PM, Kassly-Meridith Funeral Home, Collinsville, IL.

    Interment: Sunset Hills Cemetery, Glen Carbon, IL.

    AJ, JEFFERY, BROOK ,MS SHARON AND THE REST OF ANGIS FAMILY I AM SO VERY SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS. ANGIE WAS A GOOD PERSON AND A HELL OF A MOTHER. I REMEMBER PUTTING OUR KIDS TO BED AND SITTING OUT IN THEIR FRONT YARD HALF THE NIGHT TALKING. SENDING LOVE AND PRAYERS.
