Alice A. Daiber (Nee Mueller), 71, of Highland, IL, died Monday, September 23, 2013, at her residence surrounded by her family.
Alice was born April 24, 1942, to Ferdinand and Anna (Nee Markus) Mueller, in Trenton, IL. On September 29, 1962, she married Leonard E. Daiber in Aviston, IL.
She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Highland, IL. She worked at Highland News Leader for many years, most recently as Circulation Manager. She worked at Missions International as a secretary, and with her backing and support, it touches over 1 million people every day. She volunteered her time at Relevant Pregnancy Options Center, Highland, IL.
She had a passion to help the poor. She served on the decorating committee at St. Paul Church. She was a wonderful wife of over 50 years, a great mother and loved her grandkids. She went on Mission trips to Haiti and Guatemala. She was a humble servant of God. She was very instrumental in helping many people throughout the world, including 700 children in El Rancho, Guatemala. She was a bird watching and flower growing fanatic and would sleigh ride whenever she could.
She is survived by her husband, Leonard E. Daiber, Highland, IL; her children, Denise (Dan) Ervin, Bryan (Amy) Daiber, Tim (Gena) Daiber, Shelly (Craig) Sands, Mari (Layne) Krumwiede, Andrew Daiber; 23 grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Art (Inez) Mueller, Ivy Hall, Evelyn (Ben) Luebbert, Ronnie (Ken) Fix, Rita (John) Boulden; sister-in-law, Marilyn Mueller; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ferdinand and Anna Mueller; 2 brothers, Marcellus Mueller, Lou Mueller.
Memorials may be made to St. Paul Education Foundation (Leonard and Alice Daiber Scholarship Fund) or Missions International.
