    Owen J. Saathoff, 71, of Highland, IL, passed away, Monday, August 15, 2022, at St. Joseph Hospital in Highland.

    He was born March 24, 1951, to Homer and Cleda (nee Hug) Saathoff, in Highland, IL. He was a proud graduate of Highland High School, Class of 1970, and went on to earn his Associates Degree in Farm Management from Kaskaskia College.

    Owen worked on the family farm one mile south of Pierron.  He enjoyed going to tractor pulls and loved participating in them as well. He had an extensive collection of DVD’s of Tractor Pulls from around the world.  Owen loved to watch the St. Louis Cardinals and was a huge fan. While living at Faith Countryside Apts., you could often find him playing cards or Mexican dominoes with his friends.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Cleda Saathoff; niece, Sarah Limestall.

    Owen is survived by his children, Sally and Desiree Saathoff; sister Ellen (Kevin) Limestall; niece, Joy (Chris) Krouper; nephew and Godson, Matthew (Andi) Limestall.

    Memorials may be made to the Donor’s choice.

    Memorial Visitation: Monday, August 22, 2022, 4:00 to 7:00 pm, at Meridith Funeral Home, Highland, IL.

    Memorial Service:  Monday, August 22, 2022, 7:00 pm, Meridith Funeral Home, Highland, IL.

    Interment: Highland City Cemetery

    Owen (dad) remember all the things you and I did things together cardinals games even took you to a rams game tractor pulls man those were awesome. You went over and beyond to do things for us. Your life will be cherished by all of us kids. I also remember that time you had that old tractor 🚜 out at the farm and you had a yard fire and I sat on that tractor with u. I really did look up to you you will definitely be missed by all us kids. To call you my dad that was an honor.

    Owen, thank u for being my friend and class mate. I will always remember your visit to see me in Florida. Going to the flea market and getting a new puppy.
