    Ronald Gill Gibbs, 82, of Clay City, Illinois, passed away Saturday, December 18, 2021, at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Effingham, Illinois.

    Ronald was born November 4, 1939, to Harold W. and Pearl E. (Gill) Gibbs at Rinard, Illinois.  He married Judith Ann (Ross) Walden on April 15, 1977, at Bethel United Methodist Church.

    Ronald was a grain farmer.  He enjoyed working on old tractors, loved to mow and most of all loved to spend time with his family.  He was in the U.S. Air Force where he served in Italy from November 1961 to September 1965.  Ronald was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church.

    Ronald is survived by his wife Judith Gibbs of Clay City, Illinois; two daughters Vonda (Charlie) Amburgy of Christiana, Tennessee, Lora (Ray) Phillips of Flora, Illinois; two sons John (Erica) Walden of Flora, Illinois and Charles Walden of Clay City, Illinois; thirteen grandchildren Carrissa, Kiley, Ashley, Alyssa, Cameron, Morgan, Lane, Clayton, Emma, Carder, Brendal, Bria and Brynne.  Eight great grandchildren also survive.

    Preceding him in death were his parents Harold and Pearl Gibbs, two brothers Fred and Edwin and a sister Catherine.

    Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 28, 2021, from 11am to 1pm at Hosselton-Meridith Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held at 1pm at the funeral home.  Military rites will be conducted at the funeral home following the funeral service.

    Memorials may be given to Clay County Cancer Crusaders and will be accepted at the Hosselton-Meridith Funeral Home.

    Heaven is a better place with the arrival of Ronald Gibbs. Although a distant relative, Ronnie was like a brother to me throughout my life, Knowing him made my life better in every way!     I have been around Ronnie all my life as mom and Ronnie’s mom were sisters. I remember lots of family times. Ronnie was a good guy and loved his wife and family dearly. My thoughts and prayers are with all of his family. God Bless !
