Adelia Pearl Burroughs, 98, of Johnsonville, Illinois passed away Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at Flora Rehab and Health Care Center in Flora, Illinois.
Pearl was born April 27, 1923, at Rossville, Illinois to Herbert and Laura (Leathers) Lowe. She married Leslie R. Burroughs on May 24, 1941, at Sims, Illinois. He preceded her in death May 21, 1981.
Pearl was a housewife and caretaker. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, and working with flowers. She was a member of Providence General Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years.
Pearl is survived by one daughter, Marjorie Allen of Cisne, Illinois; two sons, Leslie Edward (Ruth Ann) Burroughs of Flora, Illinois and Bob (Jan) Burroughs of Johnsonville, Illinois; one daughter-in-law, Debbie (Tom) Spada of LaCenter, Washington; fourteen grandchildren, forty-three great grandchildren, twenty-seven great-great grandchildren and one on the way, and twelve great-great-great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, one son, Willie Joe Burroughs, one grandson, Robert Burroughs, one son-in-law, Lyle Allen, one daughter-in-law, Ruby Burroughs, and three sisters, Vivian, Hilda, Dorothy, and one infant sister.
Visitation: 10:00 am to 12:00 noon, Monday, December 6, 2021, at Providence General Baptist Church, near Johnsonville, Illinois.
Funeral Service: 12:00 noon, Monday, December 6, 2021, at Providence General Baptist Church, Johnsonville, Illinois.
Burial: Powers Cemetery, Xenia, Illinois
Memorials may be given to Providence General Baptist Church and will be accepted at Hosselton-Meridith Funeral Home, Cisne, IL.
