I think of Ruth from time to time. Whenever I’m in the area for a family reunion or funeral, I look at her stone in the cemetery to see if she is still with us. I was just there in September for the funeral of my aunt, Betty Blackford. Her stone is near Ruth’s and I hoped she was doing well.
I live in Pekin, IL, where Ruth’s sister, Stella, used to teach. I saw Stella’s obituary in today’s paper and saw that Ruth had passed away. My condolences to het family. Ruth was my mother’s oldest friend. She and Robert introduced my parents and they double dated. Mom always wanted to see Ruth when we were in he area for any reason.

Debra Ibbotson, daughter of Frances Jennings Ibbotson Koertge.
