Ruth Ella Haller-Kolak, nee Frederick, 89 of Pocahontas, IL died May 31, 2008 at Fair Oaks Nursing home, Greenville, IL. She was born in Dayton, Ohio on October 15, 1918 to Walter Burnett and Mabel, nee Lewis, Frederick and they are deceased. She married Howard A. Haller on October 20, 1942 in Flemingsburg, KY and he preceded her in death Sept. 5, 1987. She then married Mike Kolak on Feb. 13, 1992 and he died September, 1999.
Survived by two daughters - Barbara May (special friend Larry Clayton) Winters - Highland, IL; Sandi Kay (Gerry) Huelskamp - Breese, IL: eight grandchildren, Jeff (special friend - Patti Coco) Nicolaides, Suffolk, VA; Duane Metzger, Pocahontas, IL; Brian Metzger, Pocahontas, IL; Wes (Stephanie) Weder, Mulberry Grove, IL; Nikki (Tom) Goodall, Greenville, IL; Ray (Stephanie) Metzger Pocahontas, IL; Becky (Jim) Hayes, Millersburg, IL; Hallie (Stephanie) Haller, Pocahontas, IL; two step-grandchildren: Tyler Huelskamp and Kasey Huelskamp - Breese, IL; 16 great grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren.
Also preceded in death by: one son Howard B. Haller (died 2/17/07); one brother Edward Frederick, one Step-Brother Frank Meier.
She had worked for Basler Electric for 28 years, receiving a watch for 25 years of service. She was a member of IUE AFL Union for 26 years, former 4H leader; Song Leader at Pocahontas Church for number of years; Taught Sunday School since 1962; Rainbow girls teacher; Member of Eastern Star for over 50 years; Former member of Ladies Home Extension of bond County; AARP Member.
Her pleasant smile and gentle personality will be missed by her family and friends.
Her hobbies: crocheting, ceramics, quilting, gardening, fishing, bingo, cards.
Visitation: Tuesday, June 3, 2008 from 5:00 - 8:00 pm and Wednesday, June 4 from 8:00 - 11:00 a.m. at Meridith Funeral Home, Pocahontas, IL.
FUNERAL: Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at Meridith Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. with Roger Sanders, of Assembly of God Church officiating.
Interment - Hug Cemetery, Old Ripley, IL.
Memorials: to Hospice.
