Carolyn “Carrie” Bugger, 55, of Florissant, MO, formerly of Highland, IL, passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, July 15, 2021 at her home.

She was born December 15, 1965 to Robert and Jackie (nee Miner) Byrne, in St. Louis, MO.

She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, the Civic Women’s Club and the Booster Club.  She worked in Housing & Urban Development, and at Alton Memorial Hospital prior to her time with HUD.

Carrie’s first concern was always that of her three boys, often talking to them daily on the phone.  Her boys were her pride and joy and her favorite conversation.  Carrie always cared for everyone else before herself, always eager to talk to people.  She never met a stranger and knew anyone and everyone, a true social butterfly.  Carrie loved golfing with her friends, going to Blues games and enjoyed sports. A beautiful soul, gone too soon, she will be missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Jackie Byrne.

Carrie is survived by her sons, Daniel C. (Courtney) Bugger, Matthew L. Bugger Jr. and Justin R. Bugger; father, Robert Byrne; siblings, Robert “Bob” (Janet) Byrne Jr., Jean Byrne, Christine Davis, John (Elaine) Byrne; former husband, Matthew (Kelly) Bugger Sr.; many beloved nieces and nephews; and dear friends.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

I honestly feel like Heaven must be brighter with your gorgeous shining light! You brought so much to my life my friend & you took a piece of my heart with you! I have prayed daily for your sons & family that our Father in Heaven guides them & comforts them as you are a great loss! My sympathies goes out to each of them! I loved you so dearly my friend and I’m so thankful I was able to spend several hours with you recently, hug you and tell you I loved you! Thank you God for giving me that opportunity! Carolyn was a good friend and colleague. I enjoyed our dinners out. She the first person I called when I had a question. She was usually the last person in the office. She will be missed. Thoughts and prayers to her family whom I know she loved very much.
