    Teresa Marie Garson (Nee Ferkel), 50, of Pocahontas, IL died on Monday, May 17, 2010, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Highland, IL.

    She was born July 5, 1959, in St. Louis, MO., to Joseph and Patricia Marie (Fitzgerald) Ferkel. On Feb. 16, 1980, she married Lenard (No. 25 Fireball) Garson in Bellefontaine Neighbors, MO. He survives in Pocahontas, IL.

    Mrs. Garson loved the Lord Jesus Christ, in whom she has a long and profound personal relationship. She aspired to be like her angelic grandmother, Angela Fitzgerald, her spiritual Rock of Ages.

    Other survivors, who in Jesus’ presence, she continues to love and guide, include her children, Angela Garson, Joseph Garson and Holly Garson; her pet dogs, Roscoe, Tigger and Batman, whom she referred to as “her grandchildren;” her siblings, Christopher (Tammi) Ferkel, Kevin (Sherry) Ferkel, John (Tammy) Ferkel and Kathleen (James) Morris; nieces and nephews: Chad, Darrell, Stephanie, Patrick, Jamie, Jake, Megan and Erin; aunts and uncles, Bill and Shirley Fitzgerald, Eugene and Mary (Fitzgerald) McCreary, Justin Fitzgerald, and Jack and Roni Fitzgerald; cousins, Elizabeth Taylor, Gina McKinley, Gene McCreary, Jim McCreary, John McCreary, Tim McCreary, Mary Jane Wiles, Michael Fitzgerald, Patricia Walsh, Jackie Stang (whom she dearly loved) and Ellen Fitzgerald; and numerous extended family, friends, community and especially her church family.

    Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, May 23 at Meridith Funeral Home in Highland, IL.

    A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 24 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Pierron, IL with Father Carlos M. Bohorquez, pastor, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, officiating.

    Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, 5239 W. Florissant Ave. in St. Louis, MO., at 2:30 p.m.

    Memorials may be made to the Cardinal Glennon Childrens’ Medical Center.
