Randy William Staton, age 66 of Hartford, IL passed from this life to the next on Sunday, February 21, 2021 at Christian Hospital Northeast in St. Louis, MO.

Randy was the son of Edward and Lela Grace (Toombs) Staton.  Both of his parents and his brother, Terry have passed on to their reward in Heaven.

Randy grew up in Mill Shoals, attending Mill Shoals Grade school and graduating from Mills Prairie High School.  Following the death of his parents, he moved to Hartford, IL where he lived the remainder of his life with his aunt Leota Toombs.  During this time Randy was employed at Alton Memorial Hospital for over 40 years; having retired recently.

Randy enjoyed visits with family, family reunions at the home of his uncle Melvin and playing dominoes. Randy was especially close to niece Jennifer Bittles and family. He never missed going to the annual Champion Labs picnics with his brother Terry, and always sent cards and enjoyed outings with them.

He was a faithful member of the Brown Street Baptist Church in Alton.

He is survived by his niece, Jennifer (Kevin Pogue) Bittles, great-niece Gracie Bittles, great-nephew Abijah Bittles, 3 aunts:  Leota Toombs, Olene (Harvey) Bieber and Eleanor Lambert, and one uncle, Melvin Staton.  Also surviving are several cousins.  Randy’s fellow employees at the hospital also became his extended family over the years.

Graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 11AM at the West Antioch Cemetery, near Mills Shoals, IL. The family encourages attendees to dress casual.

Memorials may be made to his great niece and nephew; checks made payable to Jennifer Bittles.
