    Russell Koch, 91, of Highland, IL, died Saturday, January 16, 2021, at Faith Countryside in Highland, IL.

    He was born December 5, 1929 to Belmont and Irma (nee Hagnauer) Koch, in Highland, IL. On December 26, 1955 he married Mary Ann Bellm at St. Paul Catholic Church, Highland, IL.

    Russell was a member of the Evangelical United Church of Christ, Highland, IL, a former Chief of Auxillary Police, Highland, IL., a member of VFW Post #5694, Highland, IL, a 32nd Degree Mason, with Highland Masonic Temple, a member of the Scottish Rites, Belleville, IL, and Moolah Temple, E. St. Louis, IL.

    Russell was a good husband, father and grandfather.  He was a good role model to his children and a very hard working man throughout his life.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, Belmont and Irma Koch; brother Louis Koch; sister-in-law, Jean Koch.

    Russell is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Mary Ann Koch, Highland, IL; children, Steven (Jodie) Koch, Chatham, IL, Scott Koch, Roswell, GA, Karen (Darren) Twyford, Highland, IL; grandchildren, Andrew Koch, Nicholas (fiance’ Allison Long) Koch, Kyra Koch, Jordan Twyford, Carly Koch, Justin Twyford; brother, Belmont (Donna) Koch, Highland, IL.; numerous nieces and nephews.

    Memorials may be made to Shriner’s Children’s Hospital or the Alzheimer’s Association.

    **Please wear a mask, practice social distancing, and refrain from hugs and handshakes at the visitation. **

    Visitation: Thursday, January 21, 2021, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Meridith Funeral Home, Highland, IL.
