      Helen D. (nee Wallace) Midgley, 99, of Trenton, IL, died Saturday, September 26, 2020, at Trenton Village, Trenton, IL.

      Helen was born August 1, 1921, to Lawrence and Mary (nee Mayerowiz) Wallace, in New Baden, IL. She married Robert Midgley on October 21, 1951, at St. Peters Cathedral in Belleville.

      Helen attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lebanon, IL, and then St. Mary’s Catholic Church when she moved to Trenton, IL. She enjoyed the holidays, especially Christmas, when she could cook and bake and be with her family. Helen had a good sense of humor; she was very outgoing and loved to be around people. Helen also loved the St. Louis Cardinals.

      She is survived by her son, Terry (Melinda) Midgley, Lebanon, IL; grandchlildren, Nathan and Alyssa Midgley, Lebanon, IL, and Michelle (Phillip) Reichardt, Festus, MO; 4 great grandchildren; 3 great, great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

      She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Mary Wallace; husband, Robert Midgley; son, William Midgley; brother & sister-in-law, Melvin & Jane Henss; brothers, Sigmund & Leo Wallace; sisters, Sister Lucretia and Sister Lorenzo.

      Memorials made be made Western Clinton County Center, 519 N. Main St, Trenton, IL 62293.

      Graveside Service: Tuesday, October 6, 2020, 10:00 am, College Hill Cemetery, Lebanon, IL.

      Clergy: Monsignor James Margason, Pastor, St. Joseph Catholic Church, Lebanon, IL.

      This saddens me to see her go but my hope is that she’s in a better place where she can watch her Cardinals and spend time with my Mom, JoAnn. Gone are the days hearing of the daily escapades of the Western Clinton County Senior Center with Joann, Helen, Marilyn and all. Rest in peace Helen

      Where do I begin? My friend, funny, caring, loved life and the cardinals! So sorry for your loss but I am sure she is much better place. Probably riding a mechanical bull and cheering on the Red birds! So glad I met her❤️😇🙏🏻
