    Cedric Colby Cole, Msgt, USAF, Ret'd, 86, of Lebanon, IL died September 3, 2008 at Cedar Ridge Healthcare Center, Lebanon, IL.  He was born near Mattoon, IL on July 18, 1922 to John and Anna Grace (Morgan) Cole.  They are both deceased.

    He was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, John and Edward "Joe" Cole, and one son-in-law, James Wiley.

    He is survived by 11 children - Mrs. Beverly Wiley, Coulterville, IL; Diane (William) Atkins, Paxton, IL; Sue (Brad) Knepper - Lebanon, IL;  Jeanie Roberts - Champaign, IL; Cedric (You Jung) Cole, Jr. - Lawton, OK; Annette (Mike Keathly) Cole - Bloomington, IL; Grant (Luz) Cole, Champaign, IL; Valerie (Rodney) Dietz - Lebanon, IL;  Naomi (Yoshimitsu) Kasai - Tokyo, Japan, Michael (Sandy) Cole, Fredricksburg, TX; Kelly (Gary) Carper - Austin, TX; Several Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, and Great, Great Grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews.

    He was a Veteran, Serving in the USAF during WWII and Viet Nam.   He retired after 26 years active Duty, as a Master Sergeant, and had worked at the Austin, TX American Statesman Newspaper, for 16 years in Retail Advertising, graduated Farina, IL High School, in 1940, As a Radio Operator, was a Gunner in B-24 and shot down 4/22/1944 and was a P.O.W. in Stalag 17B, Krems, Austria for 1 year, served two tours in Viet Nam with the Armed Forces Network Radio/Television.

    VISITATION:  6:00 - 8:00 p.m. @ Meyer Funeral Home Sept. 5th, and Saturday Sept. 6 at the Church from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m.

    FUNERAL:  Saturday, Sept. 6, 10:00 AM @ St. Paul UCC, Lebanon, IL with Rev. Dr. Don Wagner, Pastor, officiating, with burial in College Hill Cemetery with full Military Honors.
