Edna Carlisle-Jones, 89, of Lee's Summit, MO., born in Cardwell, MO., in 1922, passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2011, following open heart surgery.

After graduation from high school, she taught eight grades in a one room school house. She received a B.A. from McKendree College in 1961. Teaching was a special talent God gave her and she loved to help form young minds. Her students from St. Libory, Summerfield, and Lebanon, IL., will remember her. She retired from teaching after 20 years.

She met and married Alfred Carlisle in 1941. They had a wonderful life together having three children. The first a baby boy, Alfred Edward Carlisle Jr., two little girls followed, Rosemary, and Regina. What a fabulous homemaker she was. She loved making her home beautiful as well as all things around her. For many years she painted and became an accomplished artist. Even at the age of 89, no one was more stylish.

Her grandchildren were another pride for her: Christopher(Cindy), Timothy(Annette), Todd (Jessica), Jason(Angela), Rick(Mary Beth), Darren(Carol) and Jeff.

Cherished grandchildren, Michael, Christine; and daughter-in-law, Bonnie Carlisle preceded her in death. Her beloved husband passed away in 2000.

Other blessings were her great-grandchildren, Elisa, Lukas, Alek, Anika, Blaise, Olivia, Ainsley, Emersyn, Macie, Regan, Rachel, Rebekah, Michael, Ethan and Aidan. Step great-grandchildren, Megan, Ryan and Katie.

Eddie and wife, Marilou, Rosemary and husband, David, and Gina and husband, Rich, will hold her in their hearts forever as their dear dear mamma.
