    DONNA LEE (PORTER) GIBSON, 82, of Cisne, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2020, after a brief illness, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, Indiana.

    Donna was born July 14, 1937 to Clarence and Floral V. (Turner) Porter at Cisne, Illinois. She married Paul E. Gibson June 30, 1976 at Fairfield, Illinois. She was a loving wife and they shared forty-two years of marriage together and he survives.

    Donna was raised in Cisne, Illinois and she and her husband Paul built a successful auction business together. Donna loved to go to the auctions and help Paul with setting things up. Her favorite past time was looking through cookbooks and going out to eat or just for coffee each day.

    Donna is survived by her husband Paul E. Gibson of Cisne, Illinois, one brother Ivan Porter of Cisne, Illinois; nephew Kyle Porter of Oolitic, Indiana; sisters-in-law Nita Smith and Cindy Huff of Flora, Illinois; brothers-in-law Brad Gibson of Flora, Illinois and Rick Gibson of San Jose, California, and several nieces and nephews.

    Preceding her in death were her parents, one brother Robert Porter, and one niece Kathryn Kay Porter.

    Funeral service will be 10:00am Saturday, February 1, 2020 at Hosselton-Meridith Funeral Home. Visitation will be 4:00pm to 7:00pm Friday, January 31, 2020 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Cisne Cemetery.

    Memorials may be given to Flora Food Pantry and will be accepted at Hosselton-Meridith Funeral Home.

    Colonel Paul…. so sorry to hear of Donna’s passing😢. I have often wondered about her over the years. I remember when the two of you were dating; especially when most of Cisne went to the ball games at the Grade School ball diamond!!! I remember her parents, who lived just a few doors down from my mom and I!!! And her brother, Robert; and I also remember Ivan.

I can not imagine what the loss of a spouse would be like but I know you have to be feeling like half your self is lost.
