    Ruth Maxine Pixley, 91, of West Salem, IL passed from this life to the next on December 16, 2019 at Helia Healthcare in Olney, IL.

    She was born September 19, 1928 in Lancaster, IL the daughter of Cora May (Schnitz) and Walter Mack Pixley.

    Ruth was a homemaker, and a member of the following: Lancaster Zion E.U.M. Church, Lancaster Ruritan Club, Lancaster Household Science Club, Berryville Willing Workers Club, and the Mt. Carmel Women’s Club. She was a 4-H leader for over 50 years and volunteered to help with bingo at the nursing home in Sumner for several years. Ruth graduated from the West Salem High School and had attended every Alumni Banquet since 1946 until the last few years.

    She is survived by several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, four sisters, two nephews, one great-niece, and one great-nephew.

    Visitation will be held Friday, December 20, 2019 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Ingram-Meridith Funeral Home in West Salem. The funeral service will be held at 11 with burial to follow in the Moravian Cemetery.

    Family and friends are encouraged to dress casually for the service.

    Memorials may be made to the Lancaster United Methodist Church and envelopes will be available at the service.

    Ruth and Howard were my 4-H leaders. She made the best caramel corn ever!
