    SANDRA K. HENSON, 75, of Fairfield, Illinois passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2019, at Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville, Indiana.

    Sandra was born November 26, 1944 at Johnsonville, Illinois to Andrew and Shelia (Pennington) Mayo. She married Donald Henson November 10, 1963 at Johnsonville, Illinois. He preceded her in death December 13, 2005.

    Sandra was an Field Office Manager for the southern forty counties of the American Heart Association for thirty-seven years. Then she worked a short time at Cisne Bank before retiring to be full time Grandma and babysitter. She volunteered at Compassion Pregnancy Center and was a Literacy Coach at Frontier Community College. She also started the Cisne PRIDE Group and was a member of Providence General Baptist Church where she was very involved with their services. She loved to quilt, travel, shop, and spend time with family and friends.

    Sandra is survived by her father Andrew Mayo of Fairfield, Illinois, one daughter Tiffany (Donnie) Lyons of Fairfield, Illinois; two sisters Diann Bennett of Xenia, Illinois and Lisa (Tom) Konopasek of Fairfield, Illinois. One granddaughter CaSandra Lyons and several nieces and nephews also survive.

    Preceding her in death were her mother Shelia Mayo, husband Donald Henson, and a brother-in-law Richard Bennett.

    Funeral service will be 1:30 pm Sunday, December 8, 2019 at Providence General Baptist Church, near Sam Dale Lake. Visitation will be 3 pm – 5om Saturday, December 7, 2019 at Hosselton-Meridith Funeral Home, in Cisne. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery near Orchardville, Illinois.

    Memorials may be given to the family and will be accepted at Hosselton-Meridith Funeral Home.

    There is no doubt in my mind that Sandra was ready to meet Jesus.
    I have known Sandra for many years and did her hair at my Beauty Shop.
    She was a beautiful person inside and out.
    Rest in Heavenly Peace Sandra and would you please give my two children big hugs for me?

    Tiffany, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your dear, sweet mother. I had the pleasure of working with her in the Mt. Vernon American Heart office. Praying that God will be with you during the sad time.
