    John D. O’Bryan Sr., 80, of Highland, IL, died Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at Anderson Hospital, in Maryville, IL.

    John was born November 1, 1939 in Owensboro, KY to Edward and Edna (nee Werne) O’Bryan. On March 10, 1977, he married Darlene Brave in Highland, IL.

    John was a 50 year member of Bricklayer Local #8.

    He was a kind man that would give you the shirt off his back. He was more worried about everyone else before himself. John enjoyed welding, making things with his hands and shooting trap. He was a hard-working man who loved his family.

    John is survived by his wife, Darlene O’Bryan, Highland, IL; sons, Greg O’Bryan, Jeff (Shelly) O’Bryan; daughters, Billie Jo (Tony) Albers, Tammy (Dennis) Huggins; grandchildren, Pauline (Clayton Wilke) Huelsmann, Catherine Huelsmann, Shawna Huelsmann, Joel Durbin, Jessica Albers, Cody Albers, Kayla Hessenhauer, Zackary McCarty, Michael Harris, Nick (Shelly) Harris, Ashley Lambert, Rebecca O’Bryan, Jessica O’Bryan, Danny O’Bryan, Christopher O’Bryan; great-grandchildren, Conner, Brodin, Emily, Jacalyn, Presleigh, Kaeson, Kamirrah, and Kaius; sister, Kathleen (Philip) O’Bryan; nieces and nephews.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Edna O’Bryan; son, John D. O’Bryan Jr.; daughters, Jackie Lambert and Cheryl Hessenauer; great granddaughter, Shiloh Harris; and sister, Martha Clayton.

    Memorials may be made to the Donor’s choice.
