Betty “BJ” Alexander, 51, of Highland, IL died Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at Anderson Hospital, Maryville, IL.
Betty was born November 18, 1959 to Monty James and Dorothy Jean (nee Dockery) Keener, Sr. She married Bart Alexander in St. Paul Church, October 10, 1991.
Betty was a Home Healthcare Provider nurse, taking care of individuals in their homes, sometimes for little or no money. She was a very compassionate person who loved to help and take care of people. She was a devoted mother and loved her children very much. She had a great sense of humor, willing and able to make you laugh.
She is survived by her husband, Bart Alexander, Highland, IL; 4 children, Samantha Jean Alexander, Nickolas Raymond Alexander, Brad Michael Rehkemper, Tricia Ann Rehkemper; 5 brothers and sisters, Patricia (Steve) Graham, Monty James (Jan) Keener, Jr., Robert George Keener, Mary Lou (Tom) Martin, John Clifford Keener; many nieces and nephews, especially Chrissy Ramo, Heather Koke, Wayne Raymo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Monty James and Dorothy Jean Keener, Sr.; 1 sister, Judith Ann Schwierjohn.
Memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice.
Memorial Visitation: Tuesday, June 21, 2011 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Meridith Funeral Home, Highland, IL; No visitation Wednesday before Mass.
Memorial Mass: Wednesday, June 22, 2011 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church, Highland
