    David Cameron Longbons, age 77 of West Salem, ILpassed from this life to the next on August 8, 2019 at Fairfield Memorial Hospital. David was born on November 4, 1941 in Pontiac, ILto Vera {Burkett)Longbons and Cameron Lee Longbons. Hewas a heavy equipment operator, and was a U.S.Veteran, serving during the Vietnam War. He lived for many years in Grant Park, ILand lived his final years in West Salem. David thoroughly enjoyed traveling to see different parts of the country and visiting people during road trips. David will be remembered by those who knew him as a person who always looked out for others, whether they were family or friends; he was willing to lend a helping hand. He was a wonderful big brother. Hewas preceded in death by his parents, and is survived by three sisters: Mary Stewart, Carol (Dale) Menke and Pam (Gary) Myers. He is also survived by three brother: Robert (Phyllis) Longbons, Michael (Sandra) Longbons and Daniel (Christina) Longbons, and several nieces and nephews and friends. A private service will be held for family members at the Sherburnville Cemetery in Grant Park, IL at a later date.
