  • Full Obituary

Maylee Renee’ Baxter, 2, of Albion, IL, gained her wings on August 3, 2019.

She was born March 22, 2017 in Mt. Vernon, IL, the daughter of Chris and Renee Baxter.

Maylee was full of energy and always smiling. She had no fear and was a daredevil and a “monkey.” Maylee was full of sass and attitude. She was 2 with the attitude of a teenager. She never met a stranger and loved to shake hands with everyone at church or wherever she was. Maylee had a special love for babies and all animals. She loved her “Bubby” very much.

She is survived by her parents, Chris and Renee Baxter; her brother, Beau Baxter; her grandparents: Tammy and Steve Comegys and Tammy and Jimmy Dale Pringle; and her great-grandparents: Anna Baxter, Wyonetta and Jim Pringle, Bill Martin, Ray Fulkerson, and Ruth Taylor. Also surviving are many aunts, uncles, cousins, her “adopted family,” and many, many friends.

Maylee was preceded in death by her great-grandpa Chuck Baxter, great-grandma Judy Fulkerson, great-grandpa Donald Comegys, great-uncle Tommy Hill, grandpa Gary Samsil, and her puppy Missy.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, August 9, 2019 at the Church of Christ in Grayville, IL with the funeral service to be held at 7 p.m. at the church.

Family and friends attending the visitation are asked to bring a favorite picture, and/or a special memory to be placed into Maylee’s box. Also, in Maylee’s memory, the family requests all attendees wear bright, cheerful colors.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family for her brother Beau’s education expenses. When choosing memorial gifts, please be aware several family members have severe allergies to living flowers.

Online condolences and fond memories may be shared with the family at www.meridithfuneralhome.com.

Ingram-Meridith Funeral Home of Albion is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Condolences are reviewed and published within 24 hours.

Oh Maylee Renee… where to begin. I loved u like I love my own daughters and I always will. U always made me smile with ur own smile and cheerfulness. Ur sweet little voice got me every time u talked even when u would say the sassiest things. I’ll never forget the way u would say “love u aunt Cass. I can still hear it in my head. It’s tough to even look at fruit snacks now because they were ur favorite. I always kept them on hand for u and ur bubby. I’m sure u have an endless supply where u are now. I could go on and on. Just know I love u so much and I miss u more than words can say. U were one of the smartest 2 year olds I had ever seen and oh so beautiful. May u RIP baby girl and know that not a day will pass as long as I’m breathing that u will not be thought of or missed. U will forever be in my heart. Until we meet again. Keep watch over ur momma and daddy and big brother Beau. They love and miss u dearly. We all do and always will. 😘

Baxter family, you are in my prayers. I am so sorry that I was unable to attend Maylee’s service. She was a doll! I can remember meeting your family when you signed Beau up for preschool. Maylee was a beautiful little baby then. I am so thankful that I had the opportunity to know her and your family for more than the past two years. It breaks my heart that I won’t be having her in preschool. I know you were looking so forward to that. I am taking comfort in knowing that she is safe in the arms of Jesus. If you all ever need anything my door is always open at Little Prairie. -Mrs. Danielle
