Nunzio “Jim” Lombardo, 82, of Shiloh, IL, formerly of Lebanon, IL, born July 25, 1929 in Hartford, Conn, died Sunday, February 12, 2012.
Mr. Lombardo was a Korean War Vet, a former member of St. Joseph’s Holy Name Society and the Lions Club, Lebanon, IL. He was an avid golfer and fisherman.
Mr. Lombardo ran Lombardo’s Service Station near Scott Air Force Base for 40 years. He served the Lebanon community as an alderman and later as the Mayor.
Mr. Lombardo was preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Blanche (nee Bivona) Lombardo, whom he married on July 21, 1951 and who passed away on May 4, 2002. His brother, Capt. Stephen J. Lombardo, USN Ret’d, a nephew, Mark Lombardo, his parents, Joseph and Lucy Lombardo.
Mr. Lombardo is survived by his 2nd wife, Judy (nee Schweinfurth) Campbell-Lombardo; a brother, Joseph (Joyce) Lombardo, E. Lansing, MI; 4 children, Stephen (Lynn) Lombardo, Luanne (Leroy) Kaiser, Andrea Lombardo, James (Jill) Lombardo; 6 grandchildren, Jennifer (Jeff) Joyner, Amanda Kaiser, Nick, Chris and Anthony Lombardo, Gina Prosser; 2 great-grandchildren, Lacey Weissenborn and Sophia Swaim.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois.
