    Thelma McFarland, 86, formerly of Allendale, IL, passed from this life to the next on April 28, 2019 at the home of her daughter.

    She was born April 21, 1933 in Allendale to Jesse (Spond) and Roy Carey. She married Bernard W. McFarland on June 18, 1950 in Allendale and he preceded her in death on July 8, 2003.

    Thelma was a cook and a bus driver for the Allendale School.

    She is survived by a daughter, Kelli (Carson) Baker of Fairfield, IL; two sons: Jim (Julia) McFarland and David (Brenda) McFarland, both of Grayville, IL; a brother, Wayne (Alice) Carey of Patoka, IN; four grandchildren: Kortny (Justin) Payne, Miranda Hale, Evan Garrett, and Clayton McFarland; and eight great-grandchildren: Stacie, Eli, Easton, Dawson, Maggie, Lynzie, Emmalyn, and Jaxon.

    Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bernard, and two sisters: Betty Bauman and Joan Ballance.

    Visitation will be held Friday, May 3, 2019 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Ingram-Meridith Funeral Home in Allendale. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. with burial to follow in Allendale Cemetery.

    Memorials may be made to Barney Prairie Christian Church, and envelopes will be available at the service.
