I met Chip in high school, and then had the pleasure of working with him at Wayne-White Electric, where we worked on the same crew.
He always came to work with a smile, and left with a smile.
One of the nicest gentlemen I have ever known.
Praying for the family and their loss, but we all know that he is smiling down on us, and awaiting our grand reunion.

His daughter, Angie has impacted our lives in so many ways..teaching, coaching, and friendship which led us to meet Wilma and Carla and the Hout crew. We are praying for you all and asking God to give you much peace in knowing the circle has not gone unbroken and that on Heavens shores, Chip awaits…praising our Father forever more.

Wilma and family, Leroy, Betty and family. Where do I begin. The fond memories I have of Chip. If it hadn’t been for him I would never have made it through Algebra 1. Just about every afternoon riding home on the school bus he was my tutor . There was the time we were at the Grayville motel when one of our parents passed away. After we were dressed to go to Albion we discovered we had a flat tire.. Had seen Chip earlier going to a meeting, guess who changed the tire and sent us to the FS station to get it repaired. I remember watching Chip being the catcher for Wayne the pitcher in high school.. Be sure you have Leroy tell you the story about Chip being the water boy while helping build a chicken house on the Foster farm. Chip was a good eater and my mother was a fabulous cook. He was pulling a fast one on the rest of the workers. Not sure, he might have been the one to throw the half dead snake on the wagon loading of bales to scare my dad who was deathly scared of snakes. I could go on and on about my dear friend and neighbor Chip while growing up on the farm. To each of you, keep your faith and family close during this time of sorrow. My prayers and thoughts are with you

We had just gotten home today from spending the winter in Arizona when told the news of Chips death. We were floored to say the least. I have known him since we played together on the Fairfield junior legion baseball team around 1959. I later purchased farm equipment from Chip after he became the Case IH dealer. He once took the exhaust pipe from a new tractor I had just purchase and had it chrome plated as an extra gift for me. Chip was one of the good guys to say the least. He always had a great smile for everyone and always wanted to ‘Buy you dinner”. I bought a used tractor from him once. It had not been cleaned out for quite a long time and was quite dirty. I found one of Chips shirts under the seat. The shirt was worn at a time before he lost a lot of weight and was very big. My wife washed it and gave it back to him. He laughed as only he could laugh as the shirt was multiple sizes too large now. Rest in peace my friend, you will be missed.
