Burial at Pleasant Grove Cemetery

ROBERT M. “MAX” JENKINS, 93, of Cisne, passed away surrounded by his family on March 10, 2019, at the Cisne Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.

Robert Max Jenkins was born on February 1, 1926, in Geff, IL, to Orville “Shorty” and Blanche (Cravens) Jenkins. He was united in marriage to Inez Larch and she preceded him in death in 2011.

Max worked as an oil pumper for Tamarack Petroleum Co. and was also a cattleman. He was a WWII veteran.

Max is survived by one daughter, JoLee (Harold) Thomason of Cisne; grandchildren, LaDeana (Robert) Davis of Wayne City, Kelly (Fred) Marshall of Kentucky, Jamie Jenkins of Kentucky, James Jenkins of Olney, Jeanie (Robert) Stevens of Xenia, and Jaleen (Denny) Mattingly of Lawrenceville; 18 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren with two on the way; and one son-in-law, Larry Greenwalt.

He was preceded in death by wife, Inez; parents; daughter, Judy Greenwalt; son, James Jenkins; and sister, Betty Russell.

A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday, March 12, 2019, at Hosselton-Meridith Funeral Home. Visitation will be held prior to the funeral from 1 pm – 2 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Geff. Military rites will be conducted at the cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to the Activity Fund at Cisne Rehabilitation and Health Care Center and will be accepted at the funeral home.
