      Willard “Bill” Edward Hamilton, age 80 of Browns, IL, formerly of Grantfork, IL, passed from this life to the next on February 16, 2019 at Carle Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney, IL with his family by his side.

      Bill was born in East St. Louis, IL on June 28, 1938 to Willard A. and Jennie (Cornwall) Hamilton.  He is a U.S. Veteran, who served in the Army during peacetime.

      On December 30, 1962, he was united in marriage to Norma Mueth at Cahokia, IL.  Bill was a steel worker who retired from Granite City Steel on January 22, 1999, just shy of a 40-year career.

      He enjoyed a multitude of hobbies, including:  gardening, yardwork, woodworking, decorating outdoors with lights for Christmas and was an avid bowler.

      Bill was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Wilma White and one step grandson, Larry Vitale, Jr. and one brother-in-law, Nolan Kelso.

      He will be remembered by his wife, Norma, daughters:  Deena  (Larry) Vitale, Tonya ( Randy) Holzinger and Amber ( John) Bogle, 9 grandchildren:  Roger Gemoules, Chandra (Brian) Evans, Weston Holzinger, Karlee Holzinger, Kenzie Holzinger, Madison Bogle, Taylor Bogle, Samuel Bogle and Reagan Bogle, 4 great-grandchildren:  Mason, Riley, Lindsey and Paisley, one sister, Wilda Lee Kelso, one sister-in-law, Pam ( Ron) Schrumpf , one brother-in-law Stanley (Sandy) Mueth and several nieces and nephews.

      A memorial service will be held at 3 PM on Sunday, February 24, 2019 at the Bone Gap Christian Church, Bone Gap, IL.

      Memorials may be made to the Bone Gap Christian Church.

      Prayers to the family. I knew Bill because of his love of bowling. Something he enjoyed so much. He will be missed by many.

      Bill was a wonderful neighbor along with Norma He decorated for Christmas an d always put up a super 4th of July When we moves he put up shelves throughout our new home so everytime I look at them we will think of him He also passed on Vicki’s birthday Our prayers and thoughts to all his family
