Charles L. Baker, 75, of West Salem, IL passed from this life to the next on October 1, 2018 at Harrisburg Medical Center in Harrisburg, IL.
He was born December 7, 1942 in Latona, IL to Leah M. (Shamhart) and Luther S. Baker. He married Judith Miller on August 20, 1966 in Olney, IL and she survives.
Charles was a Veteran of the Vietnam era, and a diesel mechanic in the automotive industry.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Judith of West Salem; one daughter, Keilana Capwell of West Salem; one son, Alan (Danielle) Baker of West Salem; two sisters: Esther Johnson and Dora May Martin; one brother, Lloyd Baker; four grandchildren: Kenneth “Gus” Baker, Allison (Billy) Freese, Kate Buckles, and Maddie Buckles; and one great-grandchild, Kenton Buckles. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters: Inez Finn and O’Norma Harris; and two brothers: Roy and Cleo “Pud”.
Visitation will be held Friday, October 5, 2018 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Ingram-Meridith Funeral Home in Albion, IL. The funeral service will be held Saturday, October 6 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home in Albion with Military Rites to follow on the front lawn of the funeral home.
