    Charles O. Wineinger, 81, of Pocahontas, IL, died Sunday, July 15, 2018, at his residence.

    Charles was born May 27, 1937, to Andrew and Daisy (nee Brandt) Wineinger, in Malden, MO. On September 8, 1956 he married Verna Mindenhall in Tallapoosa, MO.

    After high school, Charlie moved to St. Louis and started working at American Bakery Group and stayed for 30 years, retiring in 1990. After a short time he started his second career at Enterprise Car Sales until 2009. He loved his time at Enterprise and all the guys. He loved his life, his wife and his kids. He was a people person, who never met a stranger. Charlie had a big heart. He loved his cars, was a die cast car collector and enjoyed going to car shows. He also collected Western movies on DVD. Charlie enjoyed Blue Grass, Gospel and Country music; Hank Williams was his guy. His family was everything – in every possible moment.

    He is survived by his children, Ray (Pam) Wineinger, Swansea, IL, Jerry (Joni) Wineinger, Bethalto, IL, Bev (special friend, Jeff Dickerson) Pingsterhaus, Shattuc, IL; grandchildren, Amanda (Scott) Kuhlman, Sam (Rachel) Wineinger, Anna (Andrew) Harpstreit, Casey (special friend, Jeffrey Bonner) Pingsterhaus, Jessie (special friend, Jake McCoy) Pingsterhaus; great grandchildren, Alex, Asher & Eli; very special friends, Mary Trunnell, Steve & Cindy Gnaedinger; nieces and nephews.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Daisy Wineinger; wife, Verna Jean Wineinger; siblings, Archie Wineinger and Pauline Lane.

    Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
