Marcella A. Noe, 85, of Highland, IL, went home to Heaven on Tuesday, May 15, 2018.
Marcella was born, August 7, 1932, to Thomas L. and Rose V. (nee Karl) Morstain in Marine, IL. On May 1, 1954, she married Paul V. Noe at St. Elizabeth’s Church in Marine.
She was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church and a member of St. Anne’s Altar Society.
Marcella was a wonderful wife, mother and grandma. Her home was always filled with the aroma of a good, home cooked meal. Friends, family and guests were always welcomed at “Marcella’s Table”. When asked what her favorite dessert was, she joked, “One I didn’t need to make”, but her children fondly remember her delicious lemon and german chocolate cakes. She loved spending time with her family and friends.
Marcella loved to pray the Hail Mary, Angel of God, and the Our Father. She taught her daughters how to measure the cooking time of a dish by the number of Hail Mary’s or Rosaries they prayed. Her rosary was always nearby.
When asked what she would like for her birthday or Christmas, she would ALWAYS reply, “Good Children”. She did not want a new dress, a pretty necklace or flowers. She would refuse all, asking only for GOODNESS. So, in honor of their dear Mother, that is what her children tried to give her, was simple goodness. God Bless you Mom….We Love You.
Marcella is survived by her husband, Paul Noe, Highland, IL; her children, Julia (Severin, “Sonny”) Emig, Highland, IL, Susan Noe, Mascoutah, IL, Paula (Gerard) Helldoerfer, Troy, IL, Michael (Patricia) Noe, Highland, IL, Patricia (Stephen) Magdich, New Braunfels, TX, Mary (Robert) Daiber, Highland, IL; her dear grandchildren, Dan (Lisa) Emig, Anne (Allen) Buss, John (Liz) Emig, Cheri (Joseph) Buck, Jason (Megan) Helldoerfer, Amanda (AJ) Fox, Breanna Noe, Nick (special friend, Beth Steenwyk) Daiber; her dear great grandchildren, Abby and Hannah Emig, Brock, Evie Rose and Shane Buss, Verity Emig, Emmett and Everett Buck, Hadley Helldoerfer; her dear step-grandchildren, Aaron (Tina) Magdich, Jennifer Vela; her dear step great-grandchildren, Billy, Austin & Dakota Leroy, Gage and Ryleigh Vela; several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Rose Morstain; sisters and brothers in law, Rosemary (Lester) Voegele, Bernice (Ray) Riggs; brother and sister in law, Karl (Lorraine) Morstain; granddaughter, Keri Suzanne Helldoerfer; great granddaughter, Jennifer Merrick.
