Betty L. (nee Hagler) Weiss, 86, of Pocahontas, IL, died Saturday, April 14, 2018, at Hitz Memorial Home, Alhambra, IL.

Betty was born January 27, 1932, to Howard and Helen (nee Papes) Hagler in Millesburg, IL. On August 11, 1948, she married Willard L. Weiss.

She was a member of United Methodist Church, Pocahontas, IL, and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

After marriage, she worked on the farm milking cows by hand, while raising 7 children. She worked at Marine Garment Factory and St. Joseph Hospital, Highland, IL. She was known for her chicken and dumplings and being an all-around good cook. Her house was the stopping place for all the children. She loved life and enjoyed get-togethers with all the family and friends. She showered her children and grandchildren with love and affection, and you would be in big trouble if you left without a hug and kiss. We would say “Rest in Peace,” but we know she will be dancing.

She is survived by her Children, Terry (Judy) Weiss, Pocahontas, IL, Randy (Terri) Weiss, Highland, IL, David (Sandy) Weiss, Eustis, FL, Bruce (Teresa) Weiss, Millersburg, IL, Deb (Dennis) Glisson, Pocahontas, IL, Jody (Peter) Van Kleef, Millersburg, IL; Grandchildren, Sarah (Eric) McArdle, Merrisa (Chad) Purvis, Matthew Weiss, Dennis (Cami) Glisson, Jr., Amanda (Mike) Hustedde, Chris (Nicole) Ramsey, Jacquie (Buck) Mayfield, Briana Van Kleef, Richard Parker, Deana Parker, Jeffery (Dawn) Weiss, Justin (Ciara) Weiss; 22 Great Grandchildren; 4 Great, Great Grandchildren; Daughter-in-Law, Cyndi Weiss, Pocahontas, IL; Sisters, Wilma Mueller, Highland, IL, JoAnn Powell, Edgewood, TX, Carol Hagler, Pocahontas, IL; Brother, John “Bud” (Sue) Hagler, Pocahontas, IL; Sister-in-Law, Joyce (Butch) Poelker; several nieces and nephews.
