Maurice J. “Mort” Litteken, 82, of Highland, IL, died Sunday, March 4, 2018, at Faith Care Center, Highland, IL.
Maurice was born December 3, 1935, to Joseph and Bertha (nee Poettker) Litteken, in Aviston, IL. On August 31, 1963, he married Bonny MacDonald at St. Boniface Church, Edwardsville, IL
He was a member of St. Paul Church, Highland, IL. He was a terrific father, great grandpa, and wonderful husband. Maurice worked hard his entire life, a very good provider, tried to be involved in all of his children’s and grandchildren’s activities. He loved to coach baseball/softball and play cards and checkers with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed working in the garden, telling jokes, hunting and being outdoors. He kept his pain to himself. He was always there.
He is survived by his Wife, Bonny Litteken, Highland, IL; Children, Eric (Sandra) Litteken, Mascoutah, IL, Luke (Lisa) Litteken, Castle Rock, CO, and Amy (Ray) Thompson, Rapid City, SD; Grandchildren, Elsa, Isaac, Ethan, Levi, Joshua, and Luke; Sisters, Ruth Kapp, Highland, IL, Janie Gebhart, Aviston, Judy (Jim) Boehler, Aviston, IL; Brother, Leo (Pat) Litteken, Aviston, IL; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, Joseph and Bertha Litteken; Siblings, Joe, Chester, Stanley, Leonard, Ken, Bertha, Esther, Laura, Irene; several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice or APDA Center for Advanced Parkinson Disease Research at Wash U. Medical Center.
