    William Maxwell "Butch" Thomas, 67, of Greenville, IL, died January 26, 2010, at his residence.

    William was born at Scott Air Force Base, on August 30, 1942, to William Maxwell Thomas, Sr., and Phylis Ehridge.  On September 1, 1990, he married Ellen Linamen at the Woburn Baptist Church, in Greenville, IL.

    He is survived by 3 sons and 1 daughter: Shirley (Russ) Damm, Greenville, IL, Jeff Thomas, Denver, CO, Gary Thomas, Dallas, TX, and Paul (Emily) "Bud" Thomas, Greenville, IL.  8 Grandchildren: Drake, Brant, Lori, Josh, Seth, Leah, Rio, and Braxton Maxwell.

    Preceded in death by his father, William Maxwell Thomas, who died in action during WWII, his mother, Phylis Potts, grandparents, Harry and Phoebe Ethridge, who raised him since infancy.

    VISITATION: Friday, January 29, 2010, 5 - 8 pm at Meridith Funeral Home, Pocahontas, IL, and 8 - 11 am, Saturday, January 30, 2010, at Meridith Funeral Home, Pocahontas, IL.

    SERVICE: 11:00 am, Saturday, January 30, 2010, at Meridith Funeral Home, Pocahontas, IL.  Rev. Conrad Stone, Pastor Columbus Baptist Church, Keyesport, IL, officiating.

    INTERMENT: Hug Cemetery, Millersberg, IL
