David M. Rommerskirchen,Sr., 68 of Pocahontas, IL died Saturday, April 28, 2007 at his residence. He was born in Highland, IL October 19, 1938 to Melvin and Maxine Jewel (Hutchinson) Rommerskirchen and on September 27, 1958 he married Evelyn Merkle Rommerskirchen at the First United Methodist Church in Pocahontas and she survives.
He is also survived by three sons - David M. Rommerskirchen, Jr. of Pocahontas; Donald D. Rommerskirchen of Highland, IL and Dale (Janice) Rommerskirchen of Millersburg, IL; four grandchildren - Steven, Jacob, Konner and Kavon; two brothers - Danny Rommerskirchen of Pocahontas and Dale (Sue) Rommerskirchen of Highland, IL.
He belonged to the Laborer Local #100 of East St. Louis, IL for over 50 years and was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Pocahontas
He was preceded in death by his parents.
David played baseball and was an avid sportsman - enjoyed fishing, hunting, and golfing.
Visitation: Wednesday, May 2, 2007 from 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. at the May Funeral Home, Pocahontas, IL and on Thursday, May 3 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the Church.
Funeral: Thursday, May 3, 2007 @ 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dave Trover, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Robinson Cemetery, Pocahontas, IL.
Memorials may be made to the 1st United Methodist Church, Pocahontas, or American Cancer Society.
